Is It Safe to Bleach?
- Add your favorite detergent to wash water before adding clothes or bleach.
- Add ½ cup of Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach to wash water after your detergent, but before adding clothes. For optimal results, we recommend adding ½ cup of Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach to water five minutes after the wash cycle has begun.
- Add clothes to wash water after the wash cycle begins.
- Simply fill your bleach dispenser to the maximum fill line with Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach It measures the bleach for you — yes, it’s that easy! If your dispenser is smaller than ¾ cup, use the instructions above.
- Add ½ cup of Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach to wash water after your detergent, but before adding clothes. For optimal results, we recommend adding ½ cup of Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach to water five minutes after the wash cycle has begun.
- For an even easier pour, try using Clorox® Concentrated Splash-less Bleach. The thicker formula gives you more control as you pour.
- For larger machines, we recommend using 1 cup Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach to get your whites their whitest.
- If your extra large machines does not have a bleach dispenser, follow instructions above using 1 cup Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach.
- If your extra large machines has a bleach dispenser, fill dispenser to the maximum fill line.
Despite what some clothing care labels may lead you to believe, most all white garments and many colored garments can safely be bleached. (Avoid bleaching wool, silk, mohair, leather, spandex and non-fast colors). To find out if a garment is bleachable or not, do this quick and easy Bleachability Test:
- Add 1½ teaspoons Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach to ¼ cup water.
- Apply a drop to a hidden area of the item in question, like a seam, hemline or cuff.
- Wait one minute then blot with towel.
Results:
- If there’s no color change, use Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach
- If there’s a color change, use Clorox 2® Stain Fighter & Color Booster (Liquid)
