Butter

Butter makes everything better — except when it lands on your clothes.

Removing Butter Stains from Whites

On the Go

  • Scrape off excess butter with a dull knife or spoon. If possible, pretreat stain with liquid dish soap.
  • Don’t rinse stain with water until you’re ready to wash.

At Home

Pretreat with liquid laundry detergent, then wash as usual on the hottest recommended water setting. High dryer heat can cause oil to melt and sink deeper into the garment’s fibers, so check for success before machine drying. Don’t forget to use ½ cup Clorox® Concentrated Regular-Bleach for white loads.
