Quickly blot the stain with a clean cloth napkin or paper towel. Some experts recommend sprinkling on a packet of artificial sweetener to soak up as much grease as possible. Hot tip: Never run water on stains that contain grease or oil.

Pretreat with liquid laundry or dish detergent. Wait 5-10 minutes, then wash on the hottest recommended water setting along with your favorite detergent.
